Sludge and Odor Control for Municipal Plants, Lagoons and Lift Stations
Municipal wastewater treatment with DRP Accelerator gives the native bacteria in a lagoon, lift station or plant a source of usable oxygen, so they work down sludge, grease and hydrogen sulfide (H2S) instead of a chemical or a capital project. We add no bacteria and no enzymes. With that oxygen available, the bacteria stop stripping it from sulfate, so H2S is not formed in the first place, and the aerobic bacteria multiply and digest the grease and solids that anaerobic conditions leave alone. It works in aerobic and anaerobic conditions, with no chemical additives. We review your data, calculate the dose, survey the site, dose monthly and test the water so you see what changed. If you are staring at a hauling contract, a dredging bid or a bond measure, this is the alternative to a capital project.
More capacity from the plant you already own.
- Hydrogen sulfide forms in sewers and lagoons when bacteria strip oxygen from sulfate after the water's dissolved oxygen is gone.
- DRP Accelerator is an inorganic compound that carries usable oxygen to native bacteria without adding bacteria or enzymes.
- Aerobic bacteria multiply and digest fats, oils, grease and settled solids once oxygen becomes available to them.
- Water can dissolve only a limited amount of oxygen no matter how hard aeration blowers run.
- Sludge that never finishes breaking down reduces the usable volume of a municipal lagoon or basin.
- AerobicShift describes an anaerobic collection system made to behave like an aerobic one.
- A biological treatment program can run as a monthly service, an operating cost rather than a capital project.

Sludge is a biology problem first
In our experience, most of what builds up in a municipal lagoon, wet well or basin is organic solids the biology never finished digesting. DRP Accelerator is an inorganic compound that carries usable oxygen to the bacteria already living in your system. We add no bacteria and no enzymes. When those bacteria have oxygen available they stop stripping it from sulfate, so hydrogen sulfide (H2S) is not formed in the first place, instead of being scrubbed or masked after it already has. The same oxygen lets the aerobic bacteria, the fast ones, multiply and digest the fats, oils and grease and the settled solids that anaerobic conditions leave alone. Every foot of sludge blanket is treatment volume you paid for and cannot use, and the goal of the program is for the biology to get ahead of it rather than behind it.
A monthly service, not a drum of product
You do not buy a pallet and guess. We review your operating data, flow, volume, existing treatment and the problem you want gone, then calculate a dose and a frequency for your system. We walk the site and choose the delivery point as far upstream as we can reach water and power, a lift station, a headworks channel or the lagoon itself. The product arrives dry. We mix and activate it in a tank on site and it drips into the flow continuously, and we test water quality on an ongoing basis so the parameters your team already tracks show whether it is working. There is no capital purchase. Pricing is monthly, for as long as you want the result, an operating line rather than a bond measure.
Measured against your own baseline
Before the first dose we agree on the baseline and the yardstick. For a lagoon or a lift station that means sludge depth, usable volume or H2S readings. For a plant it is the parameters you already report, including biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) and ammonia. Then we dose and keep testing, and we put the trend in front of you with loading and operating changes noted alongside. That record is what a public works director can carry into a council meeting. Outcomes are goals we measure, not promises, and permit obligations stay your facility's responsibility.
AerobicShift: treatment that starts before the plant
We call this AerobicShift: an anaerobic collection system made to behave like an aerobic one. Dosed as far upstream as we can reach water and power, usually a lift station or a headworks channel, the accelerator travels with the flow, and the sewer lines stop being pipes that only carry waste. They become the first stage of biological treatment. The wastewater that reaches your plant or lagoon arrives already partly broken down: lower BOD, less fats, oils and grease, smaller solids, and no H2S formed on the way. That means less work for the plant you already built, not a bigger one to build. AerobicShift has its own page if you want the full mechanism.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Straight answers.
Can biological treatment replace a capital project?+
Sometimes, and a review tells us which case you are in. If the problem is organic sludge the biology can work through, a monthly program is the option we would put in front of your board before a hauling contract or a bond measure. If it is grit or failed equipment, we will say so.
Will it disrupt the treatment we already have?+
It is built to work inside the process you already run, not around it. DRP Accelerator carries oxygen to the bacteria already in your system, with no chemical additives, and it works in aerobic and anaerobic conditions. We dose into the existing flow at a point chosen during the site survey, and your operators keep their routine.
What does the municipal program include?+
A review of your wastewater data, flow and volume determination, dose and frequency calculation, a site survey to set up delivery, monthly dosing at a monthly price, and ongoing water quality testing. It runs hands-off for your operators, who keep running the plant while you get the trend line.
What is AerobicShift?+
AerobicShift is our name for an anaerobic collection system made to behave like an aerobic one. Dosed as far upstream as we can reach water and power, DRP Accelerator lets the sewer lines and lift stations become the first stage of biological treatment, so hydrogen sulfide (H2S) does not form on the way to the plant or lagoon.
What should we send you first?+
Your process type, average daily flow, basin or lagoon volumes, the problem you want gone, and any recent monitoring data. Add anything already on the calendar, such as planned maintenance or a dredging quote you are weighing. Estimates are fine. We can start a serious conversation from a flow number and a sketch.
WHERE TO START
Pick the problem you are living with.
Biological Treatment Optimization for Wastewater Plants Running at Their Limit
BOD and COD are what your permit tracks. We give plant bacteria the oxygen they are currently missing, work from your data, and measure the result.
Reducing Sludge in a Municipal Wastewater Lagoon
Biological sludge reduction for municipal lagoons: DRP Accelerator carries oxygen to native bacteria, dosed monthly and measured on a fixed grid. No chemical additives.
Lift Station H2S and Odor Control That Starts Upstream
Hydrogen sulfide at a lift station forms in the water. We supply usable oxygen to native bacteria upstream so it never forms, with no chemical additives.
